    GOOGLE IS CRACKING DOWN ON LARGE-SCALE LINK BUILDING
    Google has recently announced that companies who are leveraging guest blog posts as a link building technique should reconsider their strategy. Many companies do this to reach a wider audience and improve their SEO results. This strategy is still valuable, but Google is cracking down on the spammy links that feature poor content and are tagged as a guest post, contributor post, partner post, etc.
    Below is a list of things that you should avoid:
    • Stuffing too many keyword-rich links to your site in your articles.
    • Publishing the same articles across many different sites or having a large number of articles on a few large sites.
    • Using article writers who aren’t knowledgeable about the topics they’re writing about.
    • Using the same or similar content across different articles, or duplicating the content of the articles found on your own site
    As of now, Google is only warning people of this change and hasn’t taken any action yet. But they will begin penalizing these posts soon, so if you or your clients are employing these techniques, you might want to switch up your strategy. Review your posts and links, and remove those that might cause problems in the near future.
    So, how do you avoid being penalized?
    Link Diversification – One way a site can perform well in Google is to have good link diversity. It’s important to build backlinks and citations from diversified sources such as local business search engines, directories, review sites, informational content sites, image-sharing sites, etc. Maximum Uptime - Sites that go down frequently receive lower rankings from Google. Get a reliable hosting plan to minimize your chances of having downtime and address issues when they arise. Different Domain Registration – Having different registration details for different sites also helps with link building. You can make it so each website within your network has different genuine registration details. This makes it more difficult for Google to detect and flag the network. Unique Content - Each article should preferably be submitted just once to avoid duplication of content.
