Tips and Tricks for Building Your Business

Most businesses these days have a Facebook account, many have twitter accounts and some have instagram and other social accounts.

The question is, are those accounts really generating value for your business? Or are they the sloppy employee that shows up late and doesn’t get much done during the day?

Here are 3 ways your business can improve it’s social media presence.

  1. Dress for Success — does your social media account look like it just rolled out of bed or is it dressed for success?

Your profile pic & cover photo should be customized for your brand. A little bit of design assistance here can go a long way toward improving the image of your social media account and of your business as a result.

  2. Keep it Fresh — look, if you wore the same outfit every single time you saw a client, what kind of impression would that give? (Well, unless you’re Steve jJobs — and you’re not. PIC) You’re profile pic can stay the same for months, but plan to update your cover photo once a month. Also, if the last time you posted on the account was 4 months ago, it might be time for some fresh content on the page too.
  3. “Jab, jab, jab, right hook” — taken from the wise words of Gary Vaynerchuk’s social media book — don’t your social accounts be a constant stream of BUY, BUY, BUY, engage. Instead, it should be engage, engage, engage, buy. Generate interesting content that relates to your business and people are interested in, not just links to buy things from your business.

These three tips may seem simple on the surface, but they’re often neglected. Take a minute to run through your social accounts and apply these things. If you don’t have a designer on retainer, hire a good designer (like us) to help dress things up for you.

Good luck!
